Starter ring blocking key tool for Piaggio/Vespa 2-stroke and 4-stroke. The cheaper version of the blocking key 5425 from Buzetti. This key is almost identical, but twice as cheap!

The vario blocking key is for 2-stroke and 4-stroke scooters, both the 25km and 45km versions.

This is a handy tool that you will need very often on a Vespa or Piaggio Zip. To loosen the crankshaft nut you will need an impact wrench. If you do not have one, you can use this vario blocking key.

How do you use the vario block key?

Mount the blocking key to the left of the vario using two crankcase bolts.
Make sure the blocking key falls into the gears of the vario, so that the vario can no longer turn. You can now carefully loosen the crankshaft nut with, for example, a ratchet or socket wrench.

The variator lock key is also known as starter ring lock, starter ring lock plate and variator lock key.
