With a split pin you ensure that the rear wheel nut and therefore also the rear wheel can never come off the scooter. Very safe of course. Does your scooter not have a split pin at the rear wheel, but is there a hole here? Then mount this split pin as soon as possible and prevent an accident!

How do you (dis)assemble a split pin?

The installation is incredibly simple. First, remove the old split pin. Push the 2 ends of the split pin inwards so that they can go through the hole in the rear axle. Then, with a tank, pull the old split pin straight out of the hole. If desired, replace the tire or rim and re-install the rear wheel nut firmly on the scooter. Tighten it extra well.

The new split pin is placed in the hole of the rear axle and then you bend the 2 ends outwards. This way it can never slip out. If desired, you can cut the ends a bit if they are too long.
