Valve lapping paste (fine + coarse)

Lapping valves with polishing paste (grinding paste) removes carbon deposits, burrs, and corrosion to ensure a perfect, airtight seal between the valve and the seat. Apply a thin layer of paste to the valve edge, place the valve in the guide, and use a lapping tool to rotate it back and forth until an even, matte gray strip is visible.

Lapping valves for leaking valves (low compression)

You lap your valves when installing new valves, or if your valves are leaking and you want them to seal properly again.

You can recognize leaking valves by low compression. For example, if you can easily push the kickstarter down without resistance, or if your scooter starts very poorly or idles badly.
