Oil filter original with OEM code 431242 for all Piaggio and Vespa scooters

Are you going to change the oil of your scooter? Then do not forget to mount a new (original!) oil filter. All the dirt and grinding remains in the filter, which should stay out of your oil. Changing the oil is simple and anyone can do it themselves. This can be done with normal tools that everyone has at home. This original oil filter is suitable for almost every Piaggio and Vespa 4-stroke scooter.

Do you have a Piaggio Zip or Vespa scooter? Then don't skimp on maintenance and use original products.

Do not use Chinese imitation products, but original maintenance products. Using original parts costs a few euros extra, but can extend the life of your scooter considerably. In addition, you do not have to do maintenance as often, because the parts last a lot longer. For example, an original v-belt can last 10,000 to 15,000 km.

Why change the oil on your scooter?

Changing the oil is the most important maintenance you should perform on your scooter.
Engine oil cools, lubricates and cleans the engine block. If the engine oil is too old, it can cause a lot of wear. Too little oil is even more dangerous!

What happens if you drive with too little oil?

If there is too little oil in the engine block, you have a big chance of a hot runner/seizure. This causes a lot of damage and is a very expensive repair. With a hot runner, the piston and cylinder become so hot that they expand and damage each other. You have a chance that your rear wheel will suddenly block or that the scooter will stall. When the engine is cold, the scooter does not give compression when kicking. It is therefore important that you regularly check the engine oil of the scooter! Never ride with too little oil in the block.

2-stroke scooters run on mixed lubrication, which is a combination of petrol and oil. 2-stroke scooters burn oil and therefore you have to top up the oil regularly. In contrast to 4-stroke scooters, you do not have to change the oil on 2-stroke scooters during normal use.

When should you change the oil?

Our interval advice for changing the oil of your scooter:

  • 500 km
  • 1,500 km
  • 4,000 km
  • Thereafter every 3,000 km or every 12 months.

The oil filter is suitable for the following scooters:

  • Piaggio Zip
  • Piaggio Fly
  • Piaggio New Fly
  • Vespa LX
  • Vespa LXV
  • Vespa S
  • Vespa Primavera
  • Vespa Sprint

This original oil filter can only be used on 4-stroke scooters. Both on 25km and 45km variants.

Tip for assembly: Drive the scooter a bit before changing the oil. This makes the oil warm and thinner, making it easier to get it out of the block.
