About the Malossi Red Sponge air filter
Air filter element with increased air and filter capacity. Specially designed for sports performance. You can recognize the Malossi air filters by the bright red color, with the yellow Malossi logo. Increased thickness with calculated porosity (permeability). Optimal performance in dry condition, so without grease/oil on the filter, which can be improved by moistening with Malossi oil. The Red Sponge is the normal version of Malossi. The Double Red Sponge is the even better version, for even higher performance.
Why replace the air filter on your Vespa?
- Your scooter has fallen over
- The air filter is dirty or full of dirt
- The scooter does not drive properly
- The Vespa gets too little air when accelerating
- The scooter is due for maintenance
- Improve scooter performance
When should you replace the air filter on a Vespa 4-stroke?
Our advice is to replace the air filter of a Vespa with a new air filter every 3,000 km or every 12 months.
This original air filter can only be used on 4-stroke scooters. Both on 25km and 45km variants. Do you have a Vespa 2-stroke? Then you need a different air filter element.
Which scooters does the Malossi air filter element fit?
- Vespa LX50 4-stroke
- Vespa S 4-stroke
- Vespa Sprint 4-stroke
- Vespa Primavera 4-stroke
- Piaggio Fly 4-stroke
- Piaggio New Fly 4-stroke
Tip for assembly:
- Before you start, place a container by the air filter in case oil comes out. This will prevent oil from getting on your floor or clothes.
- Clean the entire air filter housing from the inside, for example with brake cleaner.
- Loosely place the air filter element in the correct place and then replace the plastic cover. You should not press an air filter element into the compartment. It should lie loosely in there (of course in the correct place).
