Unrestricted CDI 6-pin for China GY6 4T scooters
Fast CDI unit for almost all China/GY6 scooters. To be sure, check whether your scooter has the same CDI connector. This CDI has a connector for two plugs: a large 4-pin plug and a narrow 2-pin plug.
CDI unrestricted for GY6 4-stroke
This CDI fits many scooters with a GY6 engine. It's suitable for virtually all China LX models, including Vespa-like scooters like the AGM VX50, BTC Riva, and La Souris.
How do you install a CDI on your scooter?
On most GY6 scooters, the CDI is secured to the scooter's frame by a rubber. Remove the CDI from the rubber for easy access. Then, pull both connectors out of the CDI. Note that you'll need to push the clamps on the sides aside to remove the connectors.
Press the connectors into the new CDI and place it in the rubber on the frame. Then, it's important to check the electrical wire running to the crankcase cover/rear wheel. If it's disconnected, the scooter will run freely. If it's connected, the scooter will be limited by the CDI. If you install a 25 km/h CDI, the scooter will run at 25 km/h. With the wire disconnected, the scooter will not respond to the CDI.
