This black spark plug cap has a rubber protective and sealing cap and fits almost all Asian scooters such as AGM, BTC, La Souris, Sym, Kymco etc. All these scooters have the same spark plug, NGK CR7HSA.

Spark plug not sparking?

The spark plug is one of the most important parts to check if the scooter does not start or drive properly. If it does not spark, then there is something wrong with the spark plug, coil or ignition.

A coil and ignition do not break easily, so you quickly end up with the spark plug or the spark plug cable. This is often old, torn or rusted. If the spark plug does not spark with a new spark plug, we recommend replacing the coil or the spark plug cable and spark plug cap. An ignition can always be replaced and that is the most expensive joke.

How do you replace the spark plug cap on your scooter?

That's quite simple. A spark plug cable is a long black insulated cable, with a thick piece of copper wire in it. This spark plug cable is always twisted in the spark plug cap and CDI/coil. In the spark plug cap and CDI is a small copper pin with screw thread, in which you can screw the spark plug cable.

To remove the old spark plug cap. Turn the cable and spark plug cap counterclockwise while pulling them apart a little. If the spark plug cable is bad at the end, you can cut a piece off. So that it is properly secured in the new cap.

Tip! Order a new spark plug, spark plug wrench and spark plug cable at the same time. Then you can fix everything at once! And that's not the cost. Because for GY6 scooters the parts are very cheap compared to Vespa, Piaggio etc.
