How do you replace the spark plug on a scooter?
Disassembling and assembling a spark plug on a Piaggio Zip, Vespa Sprint or Primavera is very simple. All you need is a spark plug wrench. Fortunately, this is (normally) standard in the tool bag under the buddy seat. The 4-stroke spark plug wrench is placed on the spark plug and then you can unscrew it to the left with a socket wrench, which is also in the tool bag.
The new MR8BI-8 spark plug is mounted in the same way. Make sure you do not turn it crooked in the cylinder, so first try to tighten the spark plug as far as possible by hand. Then tighten it with the spark plug wrench, note; tight = tight!

The MR8BI-8 spark plug can only be used on injection 4-stroke scooters (2018 and newer models). The spark plug can be used on 25km and 45km variants, it makes no difference. Suitable for both euro4 and euro5.
Do you have a scooter from 2017 or older? Then you probably have a carburetor scooter (4t 2v). Then you have this spark plug CR8EB necessary.
What color should the spark plug be?
On a 4-stroke scooter the spark plug should always be grey. So you can't tell from the spark plug whether the scooter is properly adjusted.
This is possible with a 2-stroke scooter. Then the colour should be coffee brown. A white spark plug means a mixture that is too lean/little. And a black spark plug means a mixture that is too rich/much. You can adjust this with a jet.
