Vespa front rim wheel bolts rusted or stripped?
These wheel bolts are often rusted, loosened with the wrong tools or are tightened so hard that they will not come loose. Replace them in time, because if you can't get them loose you have a big problem! You will have to loosen the front wheel every now and then, for example to change the tire or brake pads.
How do you prevent the Allen bolts from breaking or rusting?
Always use a stainless steel ring between the bolt, so that it cannot rust and distributes the pressure of tightening. This will make it easier to loosen again. Also, apply a small amount of copper grease to the thread of the bolt, so that they do not rust.
Always use the right tools. First a ratchet or something with Allen 6 and then an impact wrench or other tool. Otherwise you run the risk of breaking/stripping the Allen head. Place your Allen bit as far as possible in the bolt and hold it straight in front of it when you loosen it. Left = loose, right = tight.
They come in packs of 5, which is exactly enough for 1 front wheel.
