Don't forget to order the original oil pan gasket! You need this to ensure that no oil leaks. You can never transfer an old gasket.
Tip! Do an oil change at the same time, since you are taking the oil out of the scooter anyway. So order a new original oil filter and 5W40 engine oil 1L at the same time.
How do you mount the black oil sump cover on a Vespa or Piaggio 4-stroke scooter?
The installation of the oil pan is easier than most customers think. Below we explain it step by step, but on YouTube there is also an extensive installation video by Zandri.
- Remove the engine oil from the scooter. The oil drain plug is located to the left of the sump. You can easily remove it with a socket wrench.
- Make sure all engine oil is out of the scooter and preferably put a new oil filter back. You can order this cheaply.
- When the oil filter and drain plug are neatly reassembled, you can remove the crankcase cover and then the crankcase pan. You do this with the crankcase bolts in size 8 socket.
- Transfer the gasket to the new oil pan cover in black and place the cover back on the scooter. Make sure you fasten it crosswise.

- Check for oil leaks and then place the crankcase cover back on the block. Fasten this crosswise with the crankcase bolts.
