Why replace Piaggio/Vespa timing chain?

Replace the timing chain in time, otherwise you risk serious engine damage. The timing chain stretches and then starts to rub against the crankcase, or can even shoot off the sprocket and break everything! The chain is not that expensive, so better to replace it than engine damage and very expensive repairs.

This chain ensures the synchronization of the crankshaft and camshaft, which allows the valves to open and close at the correct time in relation to the piston position. This is crucial for good combustion and maintaining engine performance.
