The engine block of your scooter is attached to the subframe by means of a long sleeve. This sleeve is held in place by 2 silent blocks (block rubbers). These rubbers provide stability and prevent play and vibrations. The block rubbers have to endure a lot over the years and are worn out at some point. If your block rubbers are worn out, you will get play and there is a chance that your engine block is no longer straight under your scooter. This can damage parts and it also drives very badly. You naturally want a comfortable and safe driving feeling, and you don't have that if your rear wheel is not directly under the scooter. Do you have play on your subframe? Or can you see that your block rubbers are worn out? Then don't wait too long and order these original silent blocks from Piaggio/Vespa cheaply at De Scooter Shop! Available from stock.

These silent blocks with OEM code 486081 are suitable for the following scooters:

  • Piaggio Zip all models
  • Vespa LX 4-stroke
  • Vespa LXV 4-stroke
  • Vespa S 4-stroke
  • Vespa Sprint (from 2014 or newer)
  • Vespa Primavera (from 2014 or newer)

Attention! You always need 2 block rubbers. Namely 1 block rubber for both sides.

How do you replace the silent blocks of a Vespa or Piaggio scooter?

First you have to loosen the subframe. You do this by loosening the long bolt that is in the bush. If you can reach the block rubbers then you have to remove them. If they are very worn then they often just fall out. Otherwise you can knock them out, press them or drill them out. The new block rubbers fit exactly and have to stay in place. That is why they are very tight. To make them slide in easier you can use some ball bearing grease. You can order this cheaply from us. The easiest way is to tighten them with a ratchet. Mount a bolt through the block rubber and mount a large ring on both sides and secure the bolt with a nut. Then tighten the bolt and the nut with a ratchet. The block rubber will be pushed into place by means of the rings. When you have them both in place properly then you can reassemble the subframe.
