NB:
This module is only suitable for scooters with a Rongmao injection ECU. It is not suitable for carburetor models or other injection systems such as Dellorto or EFI Euro-b. Therefore, please check your scooter's ECU before ordering.
Installation manual for connecting the Rongmao rev limiter
This limiter is usually plug-and-play with the pre-installed connectors. Don't have one? Then install the limiter as follows:
Cut the cable at the crankcase cover or the rear wheel (rear wheel sensor). Connect the blue cable from the rev limiter to the cut cable going to the rear wheel, and connect the white cable from the rev limiter to the cable going to the footboard. This essentially places the rev limiter between these cables. Connect the green cable from the rev limiter to ground (e.g., a bolt on the frame), and connect the red cable to the purple wire on the OBD readout connector near the battery.
- Blue wire: mount it on the cable towards the rear wheel
- White wire: mount it on the cable towards the running board
- Green wire: ground, so on the frame
- Red wire: Connect it to the purple wire of the tulip readout plug near the battery
The scooter always starts in the limited mode. Pressing the remote control will cause it to run without any limits and as fast as the scooter wants.
